This is it. Probably.

tl;dr: For the moment I’ll quit development of hAppy (my ADN client). I’m sorry.

This isn’t an easy step for me but it’s overdue. There won’t be a next version of hAppy in the near future (if ever). And here is why.
I’ve been developing hAppy for 12 month now in addition to my 9 to 5 job. And it was a lot of fun. In the beginning I thought it would just be a small project to play with the API and learn something. It got bigger and very time-consuming. And often I didn’t have enough time for my wife and my other interests.

I am a beginner in software development. I started development in 2009 in addition to my job as a physics teacher. Everything I know about programming, I have learned since then by reading books and watching WWDC videos. As you can imagine, I still have to lean a lot. hAppy can’t teach me what I need at the moment. I would have to re-write it from scratch (which is what could indeed happen sometime in the future). I will focus in the next month on small projects which help me to learn new things. (Could be that there will be another project for ADN in this context.)

If you are one of the 3-5 people who use hAppy, I am very sorry. I hope you are not pissed off about my decision. And I hope you can still use it or you find another client which suits your needs. Maybe even hAppy can help you with that (go to settings and select the last menu item).

I still think ADN is a great platform and I wish I would have time for hAppy AND the other things which are more important right now. Of course I will stay on ADN and maybe be even more active.

Thank you for your time.
